Diet at the Casa

Nutrition/food/meals suggested by the Casa,

All meals are recommended for retaining energy, in the best most nutritious way, for your/our well-being.

Highly nutritious food/meals and fresh juices are available three times a day in a great number of "Pousada” (guesthouses).  They include a large variety of different meats (excluding pork). Chicken and fish dishes are common.

Grains (rice, maize, wheat in the form of pasta), cooked vegetables, raw vegetables, salads and fruits, are prominent at every meal.  These meals are simply delicious, very high in nutrition, and extremely healthy. Most of the times they are included in the overall price for the stay, depending on the Pousada you stay at.

You should abstain from consuming pork, strong spices (such as chili), and alcohol. This being a requirement when one has been prescribed Casa Herbs.

If your nutrition needs include items that are not available in the normal menu, you can always contact the guest house owner/manager and ask him/her, about the possibility of obtaining it for you.

Nutrition is vitally important for your recovery. Being able to sustain, and maintain your energy levels in the highest form for your optimum health, is more than recommended.

Chemically treated foods should be avoided.  Refined sugar is also not recommended.

Give your preference to whole foods like, grains, vegetables, fruits, fish and free range meat, try and avoid excess meat consumption, as the longer our food takes to digest, the more energy it consumes in the digestion process.

Drink as much pure water, or blessed water from the Casa, as you can. Don't overcook your meals. Vegetables should preserve colour, indicating their freshness.  Supplements can be taken.  These can include brewer’s yeast, wheat germen, seaweed tablets and others of natural origin.

Chew your food well.  Try to maintain a calm/peaceful state of mind while you are having your meals and throughout the day, preferably.
